Groucho Club Bicycle Racks receive planning consent

It was great to arrive back home from Glastonbury to a decision notice approving the bike racks for the Groucho Club in Westminster. Now on to getting them up! Looking forward to the opening and the next couple of projects with Theo again from Ballington Mill

Now just to sort out the s106 agreement so WCDG can get on site for our first Empty Homes property!

Summer's here?

With summer finally here apparently, my sights are turning to getting various applications resolved before spending a few days in a field in Glastonbury. Must check that I've still got all the tent pegs!

I'm hoping that we'll have the draft s106 heads of terms back from Lambeth this week so that we can have our first property's planning consent for WCDG's empty homes project resiolved. Secondly I'm expecting Westminster's highways team to provide supportive comments for the bike rack at the Groucho Club - I'm not so good at waiting apparently!

Monster Soup

Following a really successful workshop at 3Space's Re:THINK fesitval last week, I'm very excited that our submission is now in for RIBA's Forgotten Spaces competition. Fingers crossed that the judges like our idea as much as we do - NoWall Architecture have done an amazing job (I realise I'm slightly biased); now to wait and see if we're shortlisted... tic... toc... tic... toc!

Workshops, funding & red tape

Still struggling to get scaled plans or get access to our "forgotten space" for RIBA's competition. There's a reason it's been forgotten. With just under a week to go, don't panic Mr Mannoring!

Final preparations this morning for our workshop tomorrow for 3space Re:THINK fesitival Still a few spots left, but going fast - check out details & book your space here.

Interesting discussions around utilising Heritage Lottery Funding - ideas forming - exciting times!

More by accident than design

Another great week coming up ahead. Promising talks already with the City of London for our ideas for RIBA's forgotten spaces competition - now to prgress with the management! looking forward to further discussions with Planning Aid for London to develop further ideas for collabroation.

I'm also now thinking ahead to a workshop I'll be running with Sandy from WCDG on the empty homes project. Make sure you book your free space here!

Exciting times ahead!

I have a great feeling about this week. Had a really interesting meeting with Nancy at Planning Aid for London this morning - now to find some funding to enable this little collaboration to work. Looks like I'll also be sitting on the board for them - exciting times! Now thinking ahead to our second meeting with the team submitting an scheme for teh RIBA forgotten spaces competition this afternoon over lunch - we may have found a really exciting site and currently thinking of possible uses for the space to put forward.

Empty Homes & Neglected Spaces

Looking forward to a busy week ahead of Easter putting a team together for RIBA's neglected space competition, meeting up to discuss community planning funding with Planning Aid for London and submitting the first planning application to Lambeth for WCDG's empty homes project - subdividing a beautiful house in Tulse Hill that's in need of some TLC to two affordable dwellings. It'll be great to get the apprentices working on the build as well!

Website coming soon

It's been a great first six months so far, working with a variety of people and organisations. Finally now updating the website; any comments or thoughts on the look and feel are most welcome!
