The Housing White paper has finally been published and despite changes since the draft, starter homes are still likely to remain too expensive most Londoners and the first time buyers they're meant to help get on the ladder.
After months of waiting, the document that was meant to help the housing market is with us and includes a serious watering down of the starter homes policy, which, whilst capping price at 80% of market value is a good idea in principle - as with affordable homes capping, in London particularly - this cap is way too high with starter homes potentially costing up to £450,000 according to Remarkable Engagement.
Looks like we're still waiting for the miracle to happen. In the meantime, let's get building and more homes in London!
